Setting a new rooftop unit, or swapping a failed one, means getting it up to the roof safely. We put the crane and operator on site and work to your HVAC crew's schedule.
Rooftop HVAC and RTU placements are one of the most common lifts we do around Calgary. Whether it's a single condenser on a house, a packaged rooftop unit on a commercial building, or a make-up air unit on a restaurant, the crane's job is the same: get the new unit up onto the roof, and — on a change-out — bring the old one down first. We coordinate the lift so your mechanical crew can land and connect the unit without standing around waiting.
The right crane depends on the unit's weight and the building height. Lighter units on lower roofs are a quick picker-truck job; heavier units or taller buildings call for a mobile crane with the chart to reach the roof at the needed radius. We size it off the numbers you give us so the crane that shows up can actually make the pick.
Send us the weight of the heaviest unit, the building height, where the crane can set up (and how far that is from where the unit lands on the roof), and your date. If it's a change-out, note that we're handling both the old and new units. A photo of the building and the setup area helps us confirm the crane class and spot anything — like overhead wires — that needs planning.
These lifts go smoothest when the mechanical contractor and the crane are on the same schedule. Tell us when your crew will be ready to receive the unit and we'll confirm an arrival window to match, so the roof time is tight and the connection happens right after the set.
Quoted on unit weight, building height, crane class, and whether it's a change-out. Written estimate before you book.
Send the unit weight and building height — we'll size the crane and match your crew's schedule.
